Plumbing invoice template (free, fill in and download as PDF)

Built for plumbers · opens in Billsprig, a free invoice generator that runs in your browser

Most plumbing jobs are billed as a call-out or trip fee, labour by the hour (or a flat price for a known job such as a water heater swap) and parts at your price. Emergency and after-hours rates are usually a separate line so the client sees why the total is higher.

Tips for plumbers

FAQ

Should a plumber charge a call-out fee on the invoice?

If you charge one, show it as its own line (for example "Call-out / trip fee") so the client sees it was agreed and is not hidden inside labour. Many plumbers waive or credit it when the client goes ahead with the repair; say so in the notes if you do.

How do I bill emergency plumbing work?

Keep the normal labour line and add a separate "Emergency / after-hours surcharge" line. The client can see the base work and the extra for the call-out time, which cuts down on disputes.

Do I list parts separately from labour?

Yes. Separate parts and labour lines make the invoice easier to check, and in places where parts and labour are taxed differently Billsprig lets you set a tax rate per line.
