How customs brokers can monitor tariff changes for every client

Updated 2026-11-05 · Data and API builders · by CyberMax

Short answer

Keep one list per client: each imported product's HTS code, country of origin and yearly customs value. Check the whole book against every new HTS revision, Section 301 change and Federal Register tariff notice once, then route each change to the clients whose codes it touches. A monthly note per client with the estimated duty on their basket now versus a month ago shows which changes cost them money and starts the conversation about classification, origin or exclusions.

  1. Export each client's products with HTS code, origin and yearly value.
  2. Group them in client folders and keep notes (SKU, supplier) next to each code.
  3. Check every new HTS revision and Federal Register tariff notice against all folders at once.
  4. Send each client the changes for their codes with the old rate, new rate, effective date and source.
  5. Once a month, send each client their duty-exposure summary under your firm's name.
