What is Sled Volt?
Sled Volt is a free sledding race game on Roblox. You sled down an endless snowy mountain in three lanes, swiping to dodge, jump logs and tuck under branches while the Rimehorn snow beast chases you. Race up to 8 players side by side, or CPU riders, and play a new Daily Run every day.
How to play the Roblox sledding game
You arrive at the Summit Lodge. Step into the race gate to join the next live race: a short countdown runs while players join (it shortens once all 8 slots are full) and CPU riders fill any empty slots, so a race always starts. Or pick a solo run or today's Daily Run.
Everyone sleds the same mountain on parallel tracks, side by side, so you can see who is ahead. Change lanes to dodge, jump logs, fences and rocks, tuck under branches and icicles, grind rails and launch off ramps. Clipping a corner is a stumble, not a crash, but two stumbles in quick succession and the Rimehorn catches you. Finishing places pay coins.
Controls on phone, PC and controller
The same four moves everywhere: left, right, jump and tuck.
- Phone and tablet: swipe left or right to change lanes, swipe up to jump, swipe down to tuck, and double-tap for VOLT.
- PC: arrow keys or WASD to change lanes, jump (up or W) and tuck (down or S); Space for VOLT.
- Controller: D-pad left and right to change lanes, A or D-pad up to jump, B or D-pad down to tuck, X or RT for VOLT.
VOLT, power-ups and the four worlds
Frost crystals fill the VOLT meter; when it is full, double-tap and for a few seconds you smash straight through everything. Magnets, shields, double score and the glider (a lift into the sky lane full of coins) help too. Every 1,500 metres the mountain changes, from the Pine Forest to the Frozen Village, the Ice Caves and Aurora Night, with ski lifts, avalanches, chasm bridges, ice tunnels and frozen lakes along the way.
Tips to win a Sled Volt race
- Follow the coin lines: they mark a safe lane when the rows ahead look busy.
- Save VOLT for avalanches and chasm bridges, where obstacles come thickest.
- Tuck on the straights: it is faster, as well as ducking branches.
- Jump onto grind rails: obstacles under a rail can't touch you.
- After a stumble, ride clean for a few seconds until the Rimehorn falls back.
- Finish your missions: each Mission Level multiplies your score.
Fair races by design
The game runs on a deterministic simulation that always leaves one lane passable, and the Roblox server re-plays every run with the same simulation to decide the score, so the boards (today's Daily Run, all-time and this server) can't be faked by a modified client.
