What is Hatchlume?
Hatchlume is a free creature catching game on Roblox. You catch glowing creatures called Lumes with a one-tap timing ring, and they follow you and earn Glow at your nest. Spend Glow on eggs with the odds shown, then evolve, spar and trade your Lumes, and race the server for the Golden Egg.
How to play the Roblox creature catching game
You start in Glowgrove, the hub island, next to your own nest. Walk up to a wild Lume and press the action button: a ring shrinks around it, and you tap when the ring reaches the green sweet spot. A perfect tap catches it for sure and pays extra Glow; perfect catches in a row build a streak.
Caught Lumes follow you around (everyone can see them) and earn Glow while they rest at your nest. Collect it, then spend it at the egg stands: Sprout, Spark and Aurora Eggs, plus the Lantern Egg during the Lantern Night event. Each stand shows the exact odds before you buy, and eggs only cost Glow you earned in the game.
The NEXT card at the top tells you what to do next, a minimap shows where you are and where your nest is, and Guide me draws a glowing trail to any place on the map.
Controls on phone, PC and controller
Hatchlume uses one big action button, so there is only one thing to learn:
- Phone and tablet: walk with the thumbstick; the big round button on the right does whatever is in front of you: CATCH, HATCH, COLLECT, TREAT, SPAR or TRADE. Tap it again when the catch ring hits the sweet spot.
- PC: WASD to walk, E for the action (catch, hatch, collect), Space to time the catch, Q to see an egg's odds, R to spar and T to trade with a player.
- Controller: left stick to walk, X for the action, A to time the catch, B to spar and Y to trade.
Lumes, types and zones
There are 19 original Lumes across five types: Ember, Tide, Bloom, Volt and Dusk. Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary Lumes live on six islands joined by bridges: Glowgrove, Ember Dunes and Tide Lagoon are open from the start; Bloom Glade, Volt Spires and Dusk Hollow open as your Lumedex grows. Rare and Shimmer Lumes glow brighter, so you can spot them from a distance.
Evolve, spar and trade
Lumes level up as you play and some evolve at a set level (for example Sizzlet into Cindermaw). Spar wild Alphas or a friend's Lumes using the five types. Trading is safe by design: both players see both sides, both confirm, then a 5-second countdown runs before anything changes hands.
The Golden Egg
Every few minutes a Golden Egg drops for the whole server. Grab it and carry it to your nest before another player tags you and makes you drop it. It is a race, not a raid: nobody can take Lumes you already own.
What's new in 1.3: play with friends
Version 1.3 (24 Oct 2026) adds a FRIENDS button: invite friends with Roblox's invite prompt (a friend who joins from an invite gets bonus Glow, and you get Glow for each friend new to Hatchlume), a squad bonus for time spent in a server with a Roblox friend, badges, a WHAT'S NEW board, and a portal to Skyline Flight Circuit, our flying car game.
Is Hatchlume free?
Yes. Catching, hatching, evolving, sparring, trading, quests, the login calendar and the Golden Egg are all free. Eggs are bought with Glow you earn by playing, never with Robux, so there is no paid randomness.

How do you catch a Lume in Hatchlume?

Is Hatchlume like Adopt Me?
Both are free Roblox games about collecting creatures and trading with friends. Adopt Me! is about adopting and raising pets and building a home; Hatchlume is about catching wild creatures with a timing ring, hatching eggs, evolving and sparring. Hatchlume is made by CyberMax and is not connected to Adopt Me!.
