What if you had bought…?
Pick a coin, a date and an amount. See what it would be worth now, the worst drop you would have sat through, and how buying a little every month compares. Free. Make a share card in one tap.
Your question
Hindsight, not a forecast. Prices are daily closes from exchanges' public data, before taxes; today means yesterday's close (UTC). Past performance doesn't predict future results. Information only, not financial advice.
Compare coins (Pro)
Same amount, same date, up to 4 coins side by side.
Questions
Where do the prices come from?
Daily candles from exchanges' public market data (Bitstamp, from 2011 for Bitcoin, or Coinbase), loaded straight into your browser. Each buy uses that day's close. Exchanges' prices differ a little from each other.
Why show the worst drop?
Because the end number hides the ride. A coin that tripled may have fallen 70% or more on the way, and most people would have sold in that drop. The worst drop is the biggest fall from a high, measured against the money put in.
Is this a tip to buy?
No. Hindsprig looks backwards only. Past performance doesn't predict future results, and crypto prices can fall a long way. Information only, not financial advice.
Is there a free DCA calculator elsewhere?
Yes, several free DCA calculators exist. Hindsprig's free part is the lump-sum what-if and the share cards; Pro ($4.99 once) adds weekly/monthly buying, a 4-coin comparison, a CSV of daily values and 9:16 story cards for Shorts, Reels and Stories.
