How to play Haulapse, the free 3D physics balance game

Updated 2026-10-26 · Players and puzzle fans · by CyberMax

Short answer

Haulapse is a free 3D physics balance game in the browser. Hold the left or right side of the screen (or the arrow keys) to move Dale's hand truck. Moving sideways steers around obstacles and also tips the stack the other way, so push toward the lean to save it. Customers keep adding items, so the stack gets taller and harder to hold.

  1. Open Haulapse and press HAUL IT, or just press left or right. It runs on phones, tablets, Chromebooks and PCs with no download.
  2. Hold the left or right half of the screen, the arrow keys or A and D to move the hand truck sideways. Let go to stop.
  3. Watch the tilt gauge. When the stack leans, move toward the lean so the base gets back under it. Short taps work better than long holds.
  4. Steer around fire hydrants, wheelie bins, signs, cones, scooters and the sleeping dog. A collision knocks the stack hard and slows you down.
  5. Every 60 to 100 metres a customer adds one more item. Heavy ones (fridge, piano, clock) weaken Dale's grip the most.
  6. When the stack falls you get an incident report with the photo, the cause and a customer review. Tap AGAIN to restart instantly.

How scoring works

Your score is the metres you cover, plus 30 for every item picked up on the way, 20 for every near miss (passing an obstacle with very little room) and 60 for every clutch save (the stack leans into the red and you bring it back). Coins for the Garage are 1 per 8 points.

Gusts, pigeons and cracks

Blowing leaves mean a gust is pushing the stack sideways for a few seconds: lean into it. A pigeon landing on top shifts the weight to one side until it flies off. Cracks in the pavement bounce the whole stack; the faster you go, the harder they hit.

Daily Street, board and challenge links

The Daily Street is the same street for every player that day, with a top-20 leaderboard; every posted score is checked by replaying the run on the server. After any run, send a challenge link: your friend plays the same street and sees a chalk outline where your stack came down.

Questions

Is Haulapse free?

Yes. Every mode, the leaderboard, challenge links and all cosmetics are free, with no ads and no sign-up.

Why does my stack keep falling?

Moving sideways tips the stack the other way. Use short taps, push toward the lean before the needle reaches the red, and avoid collisions.

Does Haulapse work offline?

Yes. Once the page has loaded it works offline and can be installed to the home screen.

What is the reaction cam?

The live window in the corner shows Dale's face reacting to the stack: smug, worried, panicking, relieved.
