How to play Dewhop, the free one-tap hopping game

Updated 2026-10-30 · Players and puzzle fans · by CyberMax

Short answer

Dewhop is a free one-tap timing game in the browser. A dewdrop sits on a leaf while the next leaf swings on its vine above it. Tap anywhere (or press Space) to hop: land on the leaf to climb, land in its middle third for a perfect. Miss once and the drop falls; wait about five seconds and the sun dries it.

  1. Open Dewhop on a phone, tablet, Chromebook or PC. There is nothing to install.
  2. Tap anywhere, click or press Space to hop the dewdrop up to the swinging leaf above.
  3. The hop takes a quarter of a second and the leaf keeps swinging, so tap a little before it reaches the middle.
  4. Land in the middle third of the leaf for a perfect. Chain perfects for a streak; the chime rises with each one.
  5. Do not wait too long: after about five seconds on one leaf the sun dries the drop (it shrinks and a sun appears first).
  6. Miss once and the run ends. Press R or tap Hop again to retry at once, then share your emoji grid.

Daily vine and practice

The daily vine has the same leaves for everyone that day, so scores and share grids compare fairly. Practice gives you a fresh random vine every try.

Why it gets harder

Leaves get narrower and swing faster as you climb, and from leaf 6 some swing in gusts. Watch one full swing of a gusting leaf before you hop.

Is it fair?

The game runs on fixed 60 Hz ticks and every leaf is checked to stay under your drop for at least 4 frames on each swing, with a perfect always in reach.

Questions

Is Dewhop free?

Yes. The daily vine and unlimited practice are free, with no ads and no sign-up.

How do I get a perfect?

Land the drop in the middle third of the leaf. Tap a little early, because the leaf keeps moving during the hop.

Why did my drop disappear?

You waited too long on one leaf: after about five seconds the sun dries the drop.

Can I play offline?

Yes, after the first visit, and you can add it to your home screen like an app.
