Use Orbitwren MCP with Cursor
Orbital data center & space AI compute tracker MCP: projects, launches, orbits, alerts. 100 free/day
Remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP), nothing to install. Free: 100 free/day · Paid: Alerts $5/mo; keys $9/mo; x402 $0.003/call
Set it up
- Open or create the mcp.json file (global or per project).
- Add the server under "mcpServers" as shown and save.
- Open Cursor's settings, find the MCP section and check that the server is enabled and lists its tools.
- Ask the agent a question the tools can answer and approve the tool call.
Add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"orbitwren": {
"url": "https://orbitwren.cybermaxtools.com/mcp?via=use-with-cursor"
}
}
}With a paid key:
{
"mcpServers": {
"orbitwren": {
"url": "https://orbitwren.cybermaxtools.com/mcp?via=use-with-cursor",
"headers": {
"x-api-key": "${env:CYBERMAX_API_KEY}"
}
}
}
}Cursor fills ${env:CYBERMAX_API_KEY} from your environment, so the key never sits in the file.
- ~/.cursor/mcp.json (every project)
- .cursor/mcp.json (this project only)
Tools you get
Endpoint checked 2026-10-09: https://orbitwren.cybermaxtools.com/mcp answered an MCP initialize (protocol 2025-06-18) and tools/list with 6 tools, all marked read-only. No key was used and no tool was called.
| Tool | What it does | Required inputs |
|---|---|---|
orbital_compute_projects | Orbital data centers and space AI compute projects (data centers in space, AI chips in orbit, FCC constellation filings): company, partners, hardware in orbit, launch date, vehicle, status, scale, publicly stated funding, NORAD IDs and source URLs. Use for questions like "who is building orbital data centers?" or "are there data centers in space?". Filter by company, status, category or text. | none |
next_compute_launch | The next launch carrying a tracked orbital data center / space AI compute project, with NET, window, status, seconds to launch and the projects on board (null when none is scheduled). | none |
upcoming_launches | Upcoming orbital launches from The Space Devs Launch Library 2 with rideshare and orbital-compute flags; filter by days ahead, rideshare, compute, provider, country or text. | none |
compute_satellite_orbits | CelesTrak orbit elements with perigee/apogee and period for tracked orbital-compute satellites (by NORAD ID or project). | none |
orbital_compute_alerts | Orbitwren Alerts: classified events for orbital data centers and space AI compute (new_project, launch, date_change, status_change) with companies and source URLs. Needs a paid Orbitwren key (Alerts plan $5/month). | none |
tracker_changes | Day-to-day changes: project status, launch dates, NORAD IDs, tracked launch NET/status. | none |
Test the endpoint from a terminal
This lists the tools without a key and without calling any of them:
curl -s https://orbitwren.cybermaxtools.com/mcp \
-H 'content-type: application/json' \
-H 'accept: application/json, text/event-stream' \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'If it does not work
- Cursor uses the top-level key "mcpServers" (VS Code uses "servers"); a file copied from VS Code will not load.
- After editing the file, toggle the server off and on in settings if the tools do not appear.
- The free tier has a daily limit (see the pricing line above); a paid key raises it.
