What makes a good daily planner page (and how to use it)
Short answer
The best daily page is short: one main priority you will finish no matter what, two or three secondary tasks, a few time blocks for the day, and a line for notes. Plan it the evening before, and do a 15-minute weekly review to choose next week's priorities.
- Evening: write tomorrow's one priority first, before anything else.
- Block time for it on the page (for example 9:00-10:30) before meetings and errands.
- Add at most 3 other tasks; anything else goes on a brain-dump page.
- Friday or Sunday: review the week, move unfinished tasks, pick next week's priorities.
