Add hit sparks, explosions and spells to a 2D game in minutes

For: games

Game feel comes from feedback: a spark on every hit, dust on every landing. Flarewick gives each event an effect in a matching style.

How games teams use Flarewick VFX

  1. Pick colourways per element (fire, frost, arcane, toxic, holy, volt).
  2. Godot: copy godot/flarewick/ and call FlarewickFX.spawn on hits, deaths and pickups.
  3. Phaser 3: this.load.aseprite then this.anims.createFromAseprite.
  4. Use additive blending for extra glow on dark scenes.
