How to pick the best pixel font for your game (and keep it sharp)
Short answer
Pick a font designed on a pixel grid (for example 5×7 or 8×8) and only ever draw it at that size or whole multiples (×2, ×3). Turn off antialiasing and filtering in your engine. For a full game you usually want a regular face with lowercase, a bold or title face for headings, and a monospaced face for numbers and timers.
- Godot 4: import the font, set Antialiasing to None and disable Hinting; for pixel games use Project Settings > Rendering > 2D > Snap 2D Transforms to Pixel.
- Unity: set the font asset's filter mode to Point and render at whole-number scales.
- Use a monospaced variant for scores and timers so digits don't shift as numbers change.
Good to know
Blurry pixel text is almost always non-integer scaling (for example a 7 px font drawn at 10 px).

Can I use pixel fonts in Roblox?
Roblox UI uses its own font list plus custom fonts in limited ways; pixel looks are often done with image-based text instead.
